On the Same Page and Working Towards the Same Goals
The City of Urbana recognizes that stewardship of the city means addressing the needs of today's residents while actively planning for the future -- short and long term -- in a cohesive, coherent way. On March 24, 2024, the Urbana City Council passed Resolution No. 2024-02-013R: A Resolution Adopting Mayor/ City Council Strategic Goals 2024-2025. The Mayor/City Council Strategic Goals represent the core areas, strategies, and action steps that will be applied over the next year to guide Urbana on the path forward.
In addition to maintaining essential municipal functions such as public infrastructure, public safety, neighborhood services, and economic development, the Mayor/City Council Strategic Goals for 2024-2025 are listed below. These priorities will not be at the exclusion of other citywide goals; each will require partnership and collaboration with other agencies and organizations.
