Behavioral Health Response

CCRT Graphic

The Urbana Police Department is committed to an educated, compassionate, and measured response toward individuals in our community who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Our Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) brings together law enforcement, mental health providers, hospital emergency services, and people with mental illness and their families. By working together and getting special training, CIT makes communication better, finds behavioral health resources for those in crisis, and makes sure everyone stays safe.

For more information on UPD's mental health response and CIT, contact Behavioral Health Detective Antwan Funches at Antwan.Funches [at] UrbanaIL.gov (Antwan[dot]Funches[at]UrbanaIL[dot]gov)

The Crisis Co-Response Team Resource Guide below can be a source of valuable information for those in crisis. The Guide is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition or disease, and is not intended as a substitute for consultation with a licensed practitioner.
